What is in a task's results and run history?

On the web, a task's Results & history tab shows what each finished run produced and the details of every run. This explains each part and why a run can show no output.

This article describes the web app. On the phone, read How do I manage my tasks on the phone?

Open a task and click Results & history. The tab has two lists, both with the newest first. Results holds what each finished run produced. Run history lists every run, including the ones that did not finish, with its status, timing and usage.

Results

Results only shows runs that Succeeded. Each one can show:

  • The run's text. The answer the task wrote for that run. Answers longer than 32,000 characters are cut short.
  • What changed. A short note Bluedeer writes for some runs to say what is new or different. Not every run writes one, so the line only appears when there is a note.
  • Files. Each file the run made. Click a file to open it. A file you are not allowed to open is left out of the list.
  • Output details. Click it to see the other parts the run produced alongside its text, each with its name and kind.

Results load five at a time. Click Older results to see earlier ones. If no run has finished yet, the list says "No completed runs yet."

Why a result can say "No retained output for this run"

This means the finished run kept no text, no files and no other parts to show. Almost every run that succeeds keeps its text, so you should rarely see this message. If you do, open Run history to check that run's status and details.

Runs that are not in Results

A run that Failed or Limit reached does not appear in Results, because it did not finish its work. It still appears in Run history. Run history does not say why a run failed. The Latest run section can give a short reason for the most recent run (see below). If you asked to be told about failures, the Inbox has a Task failed item for the run. See Where do task results and notices appear?

Run history

Every run is listed, newest first, with its status in colour:

  • Queued: waiting to start.
  • Running: in progress now.
  • Succeeded: finished, so its output is in Results.
  • Failed: stopped because something went wrong before the work was finished.
  • Limit reached: hit one of its limits before it finished, such as its time limit or its tool-call limit. It can also mean the assistant reported that it could only finish part of the work.
  • Cancelled: stopped before it finished.

Each row shows the time the run finished. If it has not finished yet, the row shows when it started or when it was scheduled. A row can also show:

  • The change note. The same note Results shows for that run, if the run wrote one.
  • Skipped lines. A step the run was not allowed to take on its own, with the reason. See Let a scheduled task use your connectors
  • Tools and Model calls. For example, "Tools 4 of 20 · Model calls 6". The first figure is how many tools the run used out of the most it was allowed. The second is how many times it asked the AI for a reply.

Click Run details on a row to see more:

  • Scheduled for: the time the run was due to start.
  • Started and Completed: when it actually began and when it ended.
  • Tokens: how much text the AI read in and wrote out. Runs have no token limit, so these are counts only.
  • Time limit: the longest the run was allowed to take, for example "Time limit 10 minutes".

Run history loads ten runs at a time. Click Older runs to see earlier ones. If a task has not run yet, the list says "This task hasn't run yet."

Latest run on Overview

The Overview tab has a Latest run section once the task has run. It shows how the last run ended and when. Under that is a short summary. The summary is the change note if the run wrote one. Otherwise it is the opening of the run's text. If the last run failed or hit a limit, the summary is a short sentence saying why, such as "The scheduled run reached its tool call limit."

When a list does not load

If Results or Run history cannot load, the tab says "Couldn't load results." or "Couldn't load run history." Click Retry to try again. If older items fail to load, a line says "Couldn't load older results. Try again." or "Couldn't load older runs. Try again." Click Older results or Older runs again to retry.

Who can see them

A teammate sees a task's results only after you approve sharing with them, and they never see a file they could not open anyway. See Who can open the files Bluedeer makes, and how do I send one to a teammate?

Results and run history stay available after a task is cancelled.
