Bluedeer emails the address on your account whenever something important about it changes. If you didn't make the change, you will know straight away.
When we email you
- A passkey is added, renamed or removed.
- Your password is changed in Settings, or reset with an emailed code.
- Two-factor authentication is turned on or off.
- Apple or Google is connected or disconnected.
- Your account is signed in to from a device or country it has not been used from before. The very first device an account uses is not reported.
- Other devices are signed out: all of them, or one device signed out from another device. Signing out the device you are on sends no email.
- Account deletion is requested, or cancelled by signing in again.
- Ownership of a workspace moves to you or from you.
These security emails are essential. So is every other email Bluedeer sends because of something you did or someone did for you:
- the codes you ask for (to sign in, confirm your email, reset your password or open something shared with you);
- an invitation to a workspace, or a file someone shares with you by email; and, when you invited someone whose Bluedeer account was then deleted, an email from Bluedeer saying the invitation was cancelled and its seat is available again;
- a change to a workspace's AI provider key, sent to the person who made it, the owner and every admin;
- your personal plan, or a seat pack you pay for, set not to renew. The email says until when you keep it. Bluedeer also emails you when your personal plan has ended;
- a seat given to you, changed to another tier, or taken away by a workspace's owner, sent to the person whose seat it is. A seat taken away leaves you in the workspace, read-only;
- a seat request: when someone asks for a seat in a workspace you own or manage, sent to the owner and every admin (only the owner for an admin's request), with a Review the request button; and when your own request is declined, sent to you with the reason if one was given. A granted request sends the seat email above. See Request a seat in a shared workspace;
- a shared workspace's seat pack that isn't paid (cancelled and ended, run out, on hold, or its payment failed), sent to the owner, every admin and the people on its seats when its 3 days of grace start and the day before its seats end. When its payment didn't go through, the email says so and tells the owner where to pay. See Buy and assign seats.
Receipts, payments that didn't go through and refunds are emailed by whoever took the payment, not by Bluedeer: Stripe for payments on the web, Apple for the App Store and Google for Google Play. Stripe sends them to the email address on your Bluedeer account; Apple and Google send them to the email of the Apple Account or Google Account that paid.
Essential emails are always sent. They can't be turned off, and Bluedeer refuses any attempt to turn one off.

What each email says
Each security email says what changed and when. When Bluedeer knows it, the email also names the device and an approximate place. The place is estimated from the network address, so it can be wrong.
No email contains a password, a code or a key. If Bluedeer support made the change while helping you, the email says so. Most of these emails have two buttons:
- Reset password and sign out everywhere. Resetting the password signs the account out on every device.
- Review your account. This opens Settings > Account: in the Bluedeer app on a phone that has it, and on the web otherwise.
If a change wasn't you
- Reset your password from the sign-in page. Click Forgot password?, then follow the steps in How do I sign in, and what if I forget my password?. Resetting the password signs the account out on every device.
- Sign in again, then open Settings > Account and check these:
- Passkeys. Remove any you don't recognise.
- Two-factor authentication. Turn it on again if someone turned it off.
- Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google. Disconnect any you don't recognise.
- Signed-in devices. Sign out any device you don't recognise.
- Write to [email protected] if you still think someone else has access to your account.
Choosing which other emails you get
Only emails Bluedeer sends to keep you informed, not because of something done for you, can be turned off. They are under Optional emails in Settings > Account > Emails. Click Optional emails to open it; when it is closed, it shows how many are on, such as "1 of 2 on".
- Product news and tips (off unless you turn it on): new features and ways to get more from Bluedeer.
- Scheduled task results (on unless you turn it off): an email when a scheduled task that notifies you finishes with something to report, fails, or is paused because its owner lost their seat or the plan no longer allows it. It follows each task's own notify settings, so a task set to Never notify sends no result email. See Where do task results and notices appear?
Manage workspace > Emails lists the essential emails about the workspace you have selected. They are always on, so there is nothing to change there.
- In your personal workspace: Provider key changes and Plan cancelled or ended.
- In a shared workspace: Workspace ownership transferred, Workspace deleted, Provider key changes, Seat pack cancelled, Seats ending, Seat given, changed or taken away and Seat requests. Seat pack cancellations go to the owner, who pays for the seats. Seat requests go to the owner and admins when someone asks for a seat, and to the person who asked when their request is declined.
On the phone, the same lists are in Settings, under Emails: tap Essential emails or Optional emails. A workspace lists its own emails in Manage workspace > Emails.
