A monthly cap is the most extra usage you spend in a calendar month. It counts only extra usage you bought, never gifts from Bluedeer.
Set or raise your cap
- In Manage workspace, select Extra usage.
- Under Monthly cap, type a whole number of dollars, or tick No limit.
Every cap starts at $0, which means nothing you bought is spent. When you reach your cap, extra usage pauses until the 1st of the next month. You can raise the cap at any time and keep going at once. When a reply stops at your cap, the message offers Raise my cap.
A cap is checked before each piece of work starts, so a reply in progress can finish slightly past it.
Scheduled tasks
Scheduled tasks don't use the extra usage you bought unless you turn on Let scheduled tasks use it. With it off, a scheduled task spends no extra usage at all, gifts included, and stops when your plan's usage runs out, as before. A task's own spending limit for one run still applies either way.
Notices
- When your balance falls below $2 (or your auto top-up threshold, while auto top-up is on and that is higher), Bluedeer tells you once in your Inbox and by email.
- When work stopped because extra usage ran out, Bluedeer tells you, at most once a day.
- When a cent or more is left but doesn't cover even the shortest reply, Bluedeer tells you in your Inbox and by email, at most once a day. Credit that work still running holds is not counted as used up, so you are not told it is.
- When you reach your monthly cap, Bluedeer tells you in your Inbox once that month.
You can turn off the Extra usage emails in Settings, then Account, then Emails.
