If you turned on two-factor authentication and you no longer have the authenticator app, for example because you lost or replaced your phone, you may not be able to sign in. These steps are for the web app.
Bluedeer has no backup codes
Bluedeer does not give you backup or recovery codes when you turn on two-factor authentication. The only code that works is the one your authenticator app shows. Keep that app safe. If it can back up its codes to your account, turn that on, so you can restore them on a new phone.
Bluedeer does not send a sign-in code by email to an account that uses the app, so there is no emailed code to fall back on.
Sign in another way
If you can't get a code, try these, in order:
- Use a passkey. If you added a passkey, click Sign in with a passkey on the sign-in page and confirm with your fingerprint, face or device PIN. A passkey signs you in without a 6-digit code. See How do I add a passkey and sign in with it?
- Contact support. If you have no passkey, see the next section.
Resetting your password does not turn off two-factor authentication. After you reset it, you still need the code from your app, or a passkey, to finish signing in.
Contact support
If neither works, email [email protected] from the email address on your Bluedeer account. Say what you were doing and what happened. See How to contact support and report a problem.
Add a passkey while you can still sign in
Passkeys are the easiest way back in, so add one while you can still sign in. The steps are in How do I add a passkey and sign in with it?
If you signed in more than 15 minutes ago, Bluedeer first asks you to confirm it is you. See What is "Confirm it's you" and when does it ask?
Turn off two-factor authentication
If you want to remove the app step altogether, you need a code from your authenticator app to turn it off. You can't turn it off without that code, so do it while the app still works, and before you remove Bluedeer from it. The steps are in How do I turn on two-factor authentication?, under Turn it off.
