# How do I get notifications in the Bluedeer app?

Explains how to turn on push notifications, what they cover, and where you read them in the app.

Push notifications tell you when something finished or needs your attention, even when the app is closed. You turn them on in the app and allow them when your phone asks.

## Turn on push notifications

1. Open the account button at the top right of Home, then tap **Settings**.
2. Open the **App** tab.
3. Under **Notifications**, tap **Push Notifications**.
4. Allow notifications when your phone asks.

If you declined earlier, the row says "Previously denied". Tap it and then tap **Open Settings** to allow notifications in your phone's settings.

Once push notifications are on, a **Show running tasks** switch appears under the same heading.

## What you get notifications for

- **Scheduled task results.** A task finished, failed, or reached a limit. Scheduled tasks are available on Pro and above.
- **Quiet task updates.** A task is running, finished with nothing to report, or stopped. These do not show a banner. Turn them off with **Show running tasks**.
- **Reminders.** Reminders you asked Bluedeer to send.
- **Account and security alerts,** such as sign-in alerts and subscription changes.
- **Items that need your attention,** such as team invitations.

While the app is open, most notifications show as a banner. Quiet task updates do not.

## Read your notifications

Open the account button at the top right of Home and tap **Notifications**. The screen lists your updates. Team invitations can be accepted, declined or dismissed there. Pull down to refresh. When nothing is waiting, the screen says "You're all caught up."

Tapping a notification opens the task or chat it refers to, when it has one.
