# Extra usage on the phone

Where to see your extra usage, what you spent and your caps in the phone app, and how to turn extra usage on or off.

The phone app shows your extra usage and lets you turn it on or off.

## See it

1. Open **Manage workspace** for the workspace you are in.
2. Scroll to **Extra usage**.

You see what is left, what you spent this month, your monthly cap and whether extra usage is on. In a shared workspace you see your own spending and cap, and the owner and admins also see the workspace's. The owner and admins can set the workspace's monthly cap and the default monthly cap for members in the same section.

## Turn it on or off

Tap the **Use extra usage** switch. Extra usage that isn't a gift is used only while it is on and your monthly cap is above $0. Gifted extra usage is used either way.

## In a chat

When a reply stops at your limit, the message can offer **Turn on extra usage**, **Raise my cap** or, in a shared workspace, **Ask for extra usage**, and says when your plan's usage starts over.
