# What is a temporary chat?

A temporary chat is not saved to your history, has no share link, saves no memories, and ends when you leave it.

Use a temporary chat when you do not want a conversation kept in your history. These steps are for the web app.

## Start a temporary chat

Click **Temporary chat** in the top bar. The button stays highlighted while the chat is open, and a notice reads **Temporary chat — not saved to history**.

## What is different

- The chat is not saved to your history, so it does not appear in your list of chats.
- There is no **Share conversation** button, so you cannot create a share link for it.
- It does not save memories.
- It has a time limit. When the time runs out, Bluedeer says the chat has expired and offers a **New chat** button.
- Reloading the page ends it, because the chat's access is kept only in the open page.

## End a temporary chat

Click **Temporary chat** again. Its tooltip reads **Leave temporary chat**. The notice says that access ends when you leave the chat, so you cannot continue it afterwards.
