# How do I ask Bluedeer to change part of a page?

Click Comment above a page, click the part you want changed and write what you want. Send it to Bluedeer at once, or keep several comments as pins on the page and send them together.

Comment mode lets you point at a part of a page (a heading, a button, a chart, a table) and tell Bluedeer what to change there. Bluedeer gets exactly which part you mean and changes the page for you, as a new version of the same file.

## Comment on a part of the page

1. Open the page: in its chat, in the File manager, or from your Inbox.
2. Click **Comment** in the bar above the page. The page shows **Click any part of the page to comment on it.**
3. Move over the page: the part under your pointer is outlined. Click the part you want changed. While comment mode is on, clicking doesn't press the page's own buttons or links.
4. A comment box opens next to it, with the part's name at the top (for example, **Heading “Our plans”**). Write what you want, such as "Make this teal and call it Pick your plan".
5. Press **Enter** or the send button. **Shift + Enter** starts a new line, and **Escape** closes the box.

Click **Done**, or **Comment** again, to leave comment mode.

## Send now, or keep comments for later

The box has a **Send to Bluedeer** tick, on by default.

- **Ticked:** your comment goes to Bluedeer straight away, as a message in the chat the page was made in. Bluedeer reads it, changes that part of the page and tells you what it changed. The page shows the new version.
- **Unticked:** the comment is kept on the page as a numbered pin, and you can go on to the next part. Your kept comments are saved, so they're still there after you reload or come back another day. Only you see them. Click a pin to read the comment again or delete it. When you're ready, click **Send N comments to Bluedeer** at the bottom of the page: they go together in one message, and the pins are cleared once the message is on its way.

## What your comments look like in the chat

Each comment shows in the chat as a small tag for the part, with its own short label (the part's text, such as **749.51M**, or a heading's words), followed by what you wrote. For example: **749.51M** How was this calculated? Several comments sent together show one per line, each with its tag. Bluedeer still gets exactly which part each tag means; you only see the tag and your words.

- **Point to the part:** rest the pointer on a tag. If the page is open next to the chat or in the reply, that part is outlined there, and the page scrolls to it if it's out of sight.
- **Read the comment again:** a moment later, or when you click the tag, a small card shows what the part is, which page it's on, your comment and **Show in page**.
- **Show in page:** opens the page next to the chat (or in a large view, if pages show in the chat) and outlines the part for a few seconds.
- **This part changed since:** the card says so when the page no longer has that part, for example after Bluedeer changed or removed it.

On the phone, tap a tag to see the same card with **Show in page**, which opens the page and outlines the part. If the page no longer has that part, a short note at the top of the page says so.

## Which chat the comments go to

- A page you made in a chat: the comments go to that chat, so Bluedeer has the whole conversation in front of it. If you opened the page somewhere else (the File manager, the file's own page or your Inbox), the chat opens.
- A page whose chat you can't open (someone else made it, or the chat was deleted): a new chat starts, with the page attached.

## Who can use it

Anyone in the page's workspace who can open it, and the page's creator. It isn't offered to people who only have a shared link to the page, and it's off in a read-only support session or without a seat in the workspace.

These comments are only for Bluedeer. A live page can also have shared comment threads, which everyone who opens the page sees: those are under **Comments** (see [How do live pages work?](live-pages)).

## On the phone

Tap the **Comment** button in the page's top bar, then tap the part you want changed. The comment card opens at the bottom of the screen, with the same **Send to Bluedeer** tick and the button that sends your kept comments together. Sending opens the chat.
