# How do I add files, voice messages or @ mentions to a message?

Attach files and images, record a voice message, or type @ to mention a person or one of your files in the message box.

These steps are for the web app.

## Attach files or images

1. Click **Attach files** in the message box (its tooltip reads **Attach files or images**), then choose the files.
2. The files appear above the box under **Attached files**. To take one out, click its **Remove** button.
3. Send your message.

You can also paste files into the message box or drop them onto it.

## Record a voice message

1. Click **Record voice message** (the microphone button).
2. Speak. A recording bar shows the elapsed time. To discard the recording, click **Cancel recording**.
3. Click **Send voice message** to send it. If Bluedeer is still answering your previous message, the button reads **Attach voice message** instead, and the recording is added to your next message.

Recording stops by itself at a time limit, and the recording is attached. To record again, remove the attached voice message first.

## Mention a person or a file

Type **@** in the message box. A list opens with two groups:

- **People**: other members of a team workspace. A personal workspace has no People group.
- **Files**: the files in this workspace.

Select an item to insert it as a tag, such as @report. There is a limit to how many items you can mention in one message, and Bluedeer tells you when you reach it.

For the files themselves, see [Upload and preview files](https://support.bluedeer.ai/bluedeer/files/upload-and-preview-files.md).
